Every guide on Solo and Sure is general information. It is not medical, legal, or financial advice. Here is how we try to get it right.

We read the rule itself

When a guide says what happens, we go to the source that decides it: the state or provincial law, the hospital policy, the program's own terms. We don't rely on another website's summary. If we can't find the source, we say so or leave the claim out.

Every guide lists its sources

The sources for each guide are listed at the bottom. You can read them yourself.

Every guide is dated

Each guide shows when it was published, or when it was last updated if it has changed. When a law, form, or program changes, we update the guide and the date.

US and Canada are kept apart

Rules differ by state and province. Each guide says where it applies. Guides for one place live under Us or Ca. If a guide covers both countries, it says where the rules split.

Expert review

Guides on legal, medical, and money topics will be checked by named, licensed professionals: lawyers, nurses or care managers, and financial planners. Each reviewed guide will show the reviewer's name, credential, where they are licensed, and the date they reviewed it, with a link to their bio.

We are recruiting reviewers now. Until a named reviewer has checked a guide, it shows no reviewer, and we don't imply one. Reviewers check accuracy. They don't endorse products and aren't paid for referrals.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, please tell us through the Contact Us page. We fix confirmed errors, update the guide, and change its date.
